Q - I've logged in and it says i'm not eligible for any properties-what does that mean?

A - Is it a Wednesday – as there are no properties advertised on a Wednesday. The bidding cycle starts at 12.01am each Thursday and closes at 11.59pm each Tuesday. If not a Wednesday and you are seeing this message then there are no property types and sizes that you are eligible to bid for in this set of adverts.

Q - I matched top, what happens next?

A - The Landlord will normally contact the applicant who matched top within a day or two of the close of bidding to verify your circumstances. They may do this by asking you to complete their own application form. For more information you can refer to the Housing Options Scheme Guide which was sent to you with the letter confirming your application was made active or the 'Useful Information' section on our website. 

Q - Can you bid on a property for me? 

A - There are two ways you can make a bid, on-line or by using the automated telephone bidding line: 03000110129 (you will need to have your unique reference number and memorable date and the property reference number/s you want to bid for ready). For more information you can refer to the Housing Options Scheme Guide which was sent to you with the letter confirming your application was made active.

A - We have a touch screen kiosk (in The Symington Building in Market Harborough) on which you will be able to search and bid for properties advertised through Harborough Home Search (providing you have previously applied and been accepted onto the housing register if this is more convenient for you).

A - If you do not have a phone or internet, or there are no friends or family members who can support you to bid, there is free internet access in all libraries in the Harborough District. If you still require help with bidding you can call the Harborough Home Search Team.

Q - What proof do I need to provide to support my application?

A - If you answered any question which says proof needed further supporting documents will be required. Please refer to the What documents do I need to provide question on the 'Useful Information' page on our website. NOTE Where applicants have not provided sufficient proofs to support their application a personalised checklist is sent out to them. We aim to send this within ten working days of receipt of application.

Q - I am trying to complete an online form but the website is telling me that my details are already registered and to contact you for further information – why is this?

A - Your details are already held on our database.

Q - Why are my details already registered?
A - It could be because you may have started to submit an on-line form and not completed it or you were registered previously and have been rehoused or you made a previous application which was closed.
